Carlos Salazar

Research Associate

 

 

Carlos Salazar is a current Doctor of Philosophy candidate in Global Theory and History at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).  He completed a Master of Arts in International Policy and International Economics at SAIS in 2008, and a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Arts and Sciences in 2002.  Previous experience includes research work on the immunopathology of Lyme disease at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, and work at the Department of Energy’s Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he helped lead projects promoting laboratory biosafety and biosecurity around the world.  His research centers on the effects of outbreaks of epidemic disease on power relations in the international system.
